How to run DBUtility.
This is usually required to optimize the Webgility Database. We also need to run DBUtility when the database size increases and we need to shrink it in size. We may also need to run DBUtility in circumstances, where Webgility Software returns any error related to the Webgility database OR if the performance is impacted.
Steps
1). Close Webgility Software as well as Scheduler (if running) on any computers where Webgility is installed. Make sure to kill related processes via Task Manager.
2). On the primary Webgility machine where the database ins installed, go to location C:\Webgility\UnifyEnterprise and look for a file with the name “UnifyDBUtility”.
3). Run the UnifyDBUility file, it will ask you to Execute DButility, to proceed further. It will then ask you close all the open instances of Webgility Software as well as Scheduler, click on OK, it will ask you to perform a backup, click on OK, and select a valid location for the backup to be saved, typically you would select the Webgility application folder.
4). Once the backup process is complete, it will ask you to not stop the process/restart the computer once the optimization has started. Click on OK and wait for it to complete.
5). Once you have received the success pop-up notification, you can close it and log back into Webgility and verify the database performance or issue has been fixed.
How to Run UnifyDBUpgrade
This is another method to optimize the Webgility Database and perform reindexing if Webgility has returned an error. Webgility may also directly ask you to run the database upgrade.
Steps
1). Close Webgility Software as well as Scheduler (if running) on all the Webgility machines. Ensure to kill all related processes in Webgility
2). Now on the primary Webgility machine with the Webgility database, go to location C:\Webgility\UnifyEnterprise and look for a file with the name UnifyDBUpgrade.
3). Run this file and wait for the success pop-up. Once you see the success pop-up then close it and login back into Webgility Software.
