Error:
Special service is missing Signature option required. Customer documents cannot be requested for return. Only FedEx generated documents can be returned
Causes of the Issue:
Missing Signature Option: FedEx requires a signature option for certain shipments, and it may not be enabled in your settings.
Non-FedEx Generated Documents: FedEx only allows returns with documents generated through their system. Manually uploaded documents may not be accepted.
Incorrect Service Selection: Some FedEx services mandate signature confirmation, and if not selected, the shipment may fail.
Steps to fix:
1). Verify Signature Requirement in FedEx Settings
In Webgility Desktop go to Connections then Shipping and click on Shipping Settings.
βNavigate to Shipping Rules and find FedEx under the Default Settings for Each Processor section.
βClick Configure under the Default Configure Settings page.
Under Default for Domestic Labels, locate Delivery Confirmation and select the appropriate option from the dropdown.
Click Save to apply the changes.
Once done, then try shipment again.
Note: Some services, like FedEx SmartPost, may not support signature options. Verify service compatibility before proceeding.
