Release notes for Webgility Online v8.28.0

This article highlights the new Centralized Chart of Accounts feature introduced in Webgility Online v8.28.0. Designed to streamline accounting workflows, this feature allows users to map all payment gateways from sales channels like Shopify, BigCommerce, and WooCommerce to the correct clearing accounts in their accounting system—all from a single, unified screen. By centralizing control, the feature improves accuracy, ensures transactions are routed correctly, and significantly reduces time spent on payout reconciliation and month-end closing. It is available for all new businesses (excluding multiple-store setups) and for existing businesses that have not yet defined order rules. For existing customers, clearing account mappings are now managed solely through the new centralized tab to maintain consistency.

Say goodbye to hunting through multiple tabs and untangling transactions in a single account. This feature ensures your financial data is routed correctly from the start, making month-end closing and payout reconciliation faster and more accurate than ever.

What's New? Key Benefits

  • Centralized Control: Manage all your payment gateway-to-clearing account mappings in one unified view, eliminating the need to jump between multiple settings tabs.
  • Enhanced Accuracy: Ensure every transaction is routed correctly. By mapping specific gateways like Shopify Payments or PayPal to designated clearing accounts, you get cleaner financial data, making payout reconciliation a breeze.
  • Faster Month-End Closing: With precise data routing from the start, you'll spend significantly less time on manual data entry and reconciliation, leading to a much faster and smoother month-end close.

Availability

This feature is currently available for:

  • All new businesses (excluding those with multiple stores).
  • Existing businesses that have not yet defined any order rules.

 

Notes:

  • Centralized Management: For existing customers the deposit accounts is mapped to the clearing accounts under the new Charts of Accounts tab, the clearing account selection dropdowns in other tabs (e.g., Orders, Refunds, Fees) will be hidden. All future mapping changes must be made from this centralized screen to ensure consistency.

  • Scope: This feature currently applies to mapping clearing accounts for orders, refunds, and fees for Expenses only.

  • Exclusions: Settings for Bank Accounts for Bills are not affected and will remain in their current locations.
