Multi-channel Inventory Sync in Webgility Online

This article guides Webgility Online on the setup and functionality of the Multi-Channel Inventory Sync feature in Webgility Online. Designed for merchants managing multiple sales channels, this feature ensures inventory consistency by syncing stock quantities from a designated master channel to all connected non-master channels. By centralizing inventory control, it helps prevent overselling, reduces manual updates, and supports smoother order fulfillment across platforms. The article provides step-by-step instructions for configuration, item matching, and ongoing sync behavior to help users maintain accurate inventory levels across their e-commerce ecosystem.

Prerequisites

Before enabling Multi-Channel Inventory Sync:

  • Ensure that at least two sales channels are connected and fully configured in Webgility Online.

  • Once multiple channels are connected, the Multi-Channel Inventory Sync feature will become visible and accessible under the Products module.

Note1: Once Multi-Channel Inventory Sync is enabled, the individual product inventory sync automation rules will be disabled and replaced by this centralized sync process.

Note2: This feature does not apply to Amazon Sellers.

Configuration Steps

Follow these steps to set up Multi-Channel Inventory Sync:

  1. Navigate to:
    Products Multichannel Sync

  2. Select the Master Inventory Source:

    • This is your primary sales channel where inventory will be managed and synced from.

    • Inventory quantities from this channel will be pushed to all non-master channels.

  3. Select the Non-Master Inventory Channels:

    • These are the additional sales channels where inventory will be updated based on the master.

  4. Define the Item Matching Criteria:

    • Choose the fields Webgility should use to identify matching products across channels (e.g., SKU, Product Name, etc.).

    • Proper mapping is critical to ensure accurate inventory updates.

  5. Click Save to apply your settings.

Sync Behavior

  • Once saved, Webgility will begin syncing quantities every hour.

  • Only items successfully mapped using the defined criteria will be included in the sync.

  • This process can be repeated for syncing multiple non-master sales channels to the master inventory source.

By implementing Multi-Channel Inventory Sync, you ensure consistent stock levels across all platforms, streamline order fulfillment, and reduce the risk of overselling or inventory discrepancies.
