How to Map Shipping Methods with QuickBooks

This article guides Webgility Desktop users through the process of mapping shipping methods between their sales channel & QuickBooks Desktop in Webgility Desktop. Mapping shipping methods ensures that the selected shipping method from the sales channel is accurately reflected in the Ship Via field on transactions recorded in QuickBooks Desktop. This helps maintain consistency between the sales channel and accounting system, reducing errors and improving order fulfillment accuracy.

Steps to follow:

Follow these steps to map the shipping methods from the sales channel to the shipping methods in QuickBooks Desktop within Webgility Desktop. Mapping the shipping methods will allow the requested shipping method from the website to appear in the Ship Via field on transactions inside QuickBooks Desktop.

1. Go to Connections > Accounting/POS/ERP > Posting Settings.

​2. Select Orders on the left, then in the Posting Rules under Configure Mappings, click Setup for Map shipping methods.

3. Here in Shipment Mappings, you can map the shipping methods from your online store with the shipping methods in QuickBooks.

4. You can add new shipping methods by selecting the carrier from the Select carrier dropdown and entering the name of the shipping method. Select Add New Method to create a mapping for that method.

5. To save the mappings, click Save & Close on the above screen, then Save & Continue on the orders page and close the Posting Settings Window.
