Trash View in Webgility Desktop

This article helps Webgility Desktop users understand the Trash View in Webgility Desktop, which serves as a temporary storage area for orders pending deletion. Similar to the Recycle Bin in Windows, this feature allows users to review orders before taking final action. From the Trash View, users can either restore an order or permanently delete it from the Webgility Desktop database. This prevents accidental data loss and provides flexibility in managing orders.

Definition:

In Webgility Desktop, the trash view is the storage for orders that are pending deletion by the user. This functions similarly to the Recycle Bin in the Windows operating system.

Process:

1. To send an Order to the Trash tab,  select the order and click on the Trash-Can symbol that appears to the right when you hover over an order in the Orders tab or Archive tab views.

2. Once in the trash, you have two options:

  • Restore the order.

  • Empty Trash (means completely delete from Webgility Desktop database)

Note:  It is generally considered best practice to never delete orders. Removing an order from Webgility Desktop database may cause the order to be downloaded again until the order download settings are changed or avoiding the order download by back date method.
