UPS Label Generation Failure — Error 120200 (Missing or Invalid Ship To Name)

Webgility Desktop unable to generate a UPS shipping label for one of their orders. The label request failed with a "missing or invalid ship to name" error. This help article guides you to resolve this error

Root Cause

The Ship To company name on the order is unusually long. This value exceeded what the label generation flow accepted in the ship-to name field, causing the UPS label request to fail with Error 120200.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Open the affected order in Webgility Desktop.
  2. Review the Ship To address information.
  3. Inspect the company name in the Ship To section.
  4. If the company name is unusually long, shorten or simplify it and then save it.
  5. Retry label generation.
  6. Confirm that the label prints successfully.
