Understanding Product Sync Timing and Managing Excess Syncs in Store Automations
This article explains how to use and adjust the scheduler in Webgility Desktop to automatically sync product quantity, price, and cost between your online store and QuickBooks Desktop. It covers setting the sync frequency, choosing the sync direction, and troubleshooting performance or throttling issues. Instructions are also provided for reviewing sync logs and updating the application to ensure optimal performance.
Webgility Desktop’s scheduler can automatically sync your product quantity, price, and cost between your online store and QuickBooks. You can configure what data to sync, how often, and the sync direction—either from QuickBooks to your store or from your store to QuickBooks.
Sync Frequency Settings
In the scheduler settings, the product sync frequency can be set from every 5 minutes to once every 24 hours. While a 5-minute sync may work fine for some stores, others may experience performance issues or throttling errors due to high-frequency requests.
If you encounter such issues, please follow these steps to adjust the sync frequency:
-
Open Webgility Desktop.
-
Go to Scheduler Settings.
-
Locate the Product Sync Frequency option.
-
Adjust the sync interval to a higher frequency (e.g., 15 or 30 minutes) that better suits your store’s capacity.
-
Save the changes.
Checking for Errors
If you suspect sync issues, you can check for any error messages in the processing logs:
-
Navigate to C:\Webgility\UnifyEnterprise\SchedulerLogs
-
Open the most recent log file to review any error messages or throttling issues.
