Troubleshooting Fee Discrepancies Between Shopify Payout Reports and Orders in Webgility Desktop

This article helps Webgility Desktop users resolve mismatches between the payout report and the fee tab within an order where fees appear correctly in the payout section but not in the order itself. This issue is often caused by previously unsupported fee fields in the application. The guide provides step-by-step instructions to address the problem.

Step 1: Update Webgility Desktop

Before proceeding, ensure you are on the latest version of Webgility Desktop:

  • If you're able to log in to Webgility, go to Help > Check for Updates > Update.

  • If you're unable to log in, download the latest installer from https://portal.webgility.com, then install and relaunch the application.


Step 2: Verify the Discrepancy

  • Compare the fee amount shown in the fee tab in the order with the corresponding payout in the Payouts section.

  • Navigate to Orders > Shopify  > Payouts to locate the relevant payout.


Step 3: Redownload the Payout

  • Go to Orders > Shopify > Payouts

  • Select the affected payout

  • Click Remove, then Re-download the payout


Step 4: Redownload the Order

  • Ensure the order is in Unposted status

  • In the Orders tab, right-click the affected order and select Re-download


Step 5: Validate the Update

  • Open the fee tab in the order and verify the fee information is now updated

  • Review the payout’s detailed view to confirm the fees match

  • Ensure consistency between the payout and the order data
