Resolving Price Discrepancies Due to Incorrect Product Mapping in Webgility Desktop
This article helps Webgility Desktop users resolve pricing mismatches between Shopify and QuickBooks POS caused by incorrect product mapping in Webgility Desktop. It explains how to identify mismapped products, correct the associations, and resync accurate pricing to ensure consistency across platforms.
1. Identifying the Product Mapping Issue
A. Review Reports in QuickBooks and Sales Channel
-
Check product pricing in Shopify for discrepancies.
-
Compare pricing and product names/SKUs in Webgility and QuickBooks POS.
-
Look for mismatches in SKU-to-item mappings, especially for products with recent pricing updates.
B. Analyze Product Mapping in Webgility
-
Open Webgility Desktop and navigate to:
-
Product Catalog > Product Mapping
-
-
Search for the affected SKU (in this case, the 25lb item).
-
Confirm whether it’s incorrectly linked to the 2lb QuickBooks POS item.
2. Correcting the Product Mapping and Price
A. Remove the Incorrect Mapping
-
Search for the SKU associated with the pricing issue.
-
Locate the incorrect mapping:
-
Shopify 25lb item → QuickBooks POS 2lb item
-
-
Select the entry and click Remove or Delete Mapping.
B. Remap the Product Correctly
-
Create a new mapping:
-
Link the Shopify 25lb SKU to the correct 25lb QuickBooks POS item.
-
-
Double-check:
-
Item description
-
SKU
-
Price
-
Unit weight or size
-
-
Confirm consistency between Shopify and QuickBooks POS for that product.
3. Sync the Correct Price
A. Initiate a Manual Sync
-
Select the updated product and run the sync process.
-
After syncing, verify that the correct price ($75) is reflected in Shopify.
