Login timeout expired

This article helps Webgility Desktop users resolve the "Login timeout expired" error in Webgility Desktop. The error occurs when the application’s database takes too long to respond, often due to heavy load or performance issues, preventing successful login. The article guides users to log out and close Webgility Desktop and the Scheduler, then run the UnifyDBUpgrade utility from the Webgility folder to update the database. After completing this process, users can attempt to log in again successfully.

Error Message:

Login timeout expired

Cause of the issue:

This issue is not tied to a specific action in the application but it is related to the application’s performance. This typically arises when the Webgility Desktop Database is too slow to respond within the designated timeout period. This can occur if the database is under heavy load, and experiencing performance issues.

Steps to fix:

1. First, log out and exit from Webgility Desktop also stop and exit the Scheduler (if running). If needed, use Task Manager to perform force close.

2. Once done then navigate to "This PC" on your machine, goto C Drive and look for Webgility folder, open it and look for Unify Enterprise folder, open it and look for a file with the name “UnifyDBUpgrade”, run the file and wait for a success popup that says Unify DB Updated Successfully.

Now try again.
