How Webgility Desktop Handles PII and What It Means for Your Order Data
This article helps Webgility Desktop users understand and manage Webgility Desktop’s Personally Identifiable Information (PII) data handling feature, which supports privacy and compliance by automatically removing sensitive customer information such as names, addresses, phone numbers, and emails from orders older than 30 days in the Webgility Desktop database. It also addresses potential issues this feature may cause, such as errors during the customer matching process when orders are still pending for QuickBooks Desktop posting, and provides guidance on how to handle such scenarios.
Overview:
Webgility Desktop provides a feature to manage Personally Identifiable Information (PII) to ensure data privacy and compliance. PII includes sensitive customer information such as first name, last name, address, phone number, email, etc.
As part of this feature, Webgility Desktop automatically removes customer data from orders stored in the Webgility Desktop database (only) if they are older than 30 days. However, there may be cases where orders are still pending for QuickBooks posting, and the missing customer data could cause errors during the customer matching process while posting orders.
