How to Use the 'Ignore Dropship Items' Setting in Webgility Desktop
This article helps Webgility Desktop users exclude dropship products from syncing with QuickBooks Desktop. Since dropship items are typically managed and fulfilled externally, users may want to prevent these products from updating inventory to avoid confusion or double-counting. This guide explains how to enable the "Ignore Dropship Items" setting in Webgility Desktop and how to manually flag products as dropship items.
Overview
If you're using dropship items and don’t want them to sync with your accounting or sales channels, Webgility Desktop offers a simple solution. By enabling the Ignore sync for items marked as Dropship setting, you can keep those products from being included in automatic inventory sync.
This guide walks you through how to enable the setting and mark products accordingly — no outside help required!
Step 1: Enable the “Ignore Dropship Items” Setting
-
Open Webgility Desktop.
-
Go to Products > Settings > Sync Settings.
-
Find the option labeled Ignore sync for items marked as Dropship.
-
Check the box to enable it.
-
Click Save to apply your changes.
Step 2: Mark Products as Dropship
To make sure Webgility knows which items to exclude:
-
Navigate to the Products section in Webgility Desktop.
-
Use filters or search to find the items you want to mark as dropship.
-
Double click on a product to open its details.
-
Look for the Dropship option under QuickBooks > All products.
-
Select the dropship option to mark it as a dropship item.
-
Save your changes.
Repeat this for any additional dropship items.
Step 3: Double-Check Your Inventory Sync
Once everything is set up:
-
Run a product sync from Webgility Desktop.
-
Dropship-marked items should now be excluded from inventory updates to your QuickBooks Enterprise.
-
Check your synced inventory to make sure only the correct items appear.
Helpful Tip
If you add new dropship products in the future, don’t forget to mark them as dropship too — this keeps your sync clean and accurate.
