How to Start or Stop the Scheduler in Webgility Desktop

This article helps Webgility Desktop users understand and manage the Scheduler tool in Webgility Desktop, which automates tasks like downloading orders, posting to accounting, and syncing inventory. It explains how to check the Scheduler’s current status and provides step-by-step instructions for starting, stopping, or restarting it when needed, such as after application updates or configuration changes.

Scheduler Status Indicators

The Scheduler icon in the system tray shows its current status:

  • Gray (No Icon): Scheduler is off.

  • Amber (Orange Icon): Scheduler is ready but not running.

  • Green Icon: Scheduler is running.

Note: Automation is only active when the icon is green.

Start the Scheduler (When OFF)

  1. Open the Webgility Desktop application.

  2. Click the Scheduler icon in the top-right corner of the dashboard.

  3. In the pop-up window, click Start Scheduler.

    • If the Scheduler was configured earlier, this will resume automation.

Start the Scheduler (When in Ready State)

  1. Click the System Tray in Windows (bottom-right corner of the screen).

  2. Locate the amber Scheduler icon (orange "W").

  3. Right-click the icon and select Start from the menu.

Stop the Scheduler

  1. Click the System Tray in Windows.

  2. Right-click the green or amber Scheduler icon.

  3. Select Stop to halt automation.

  4. To completely close the Scheduler, select Exit.

Force Quit the Scheduler (if unresponsive)

If the Scheduler does not close normally, use Task Manager to exit it manually:

  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.

  2. Go to the Details tab.

  3. Locate both UnifyScheduler.exe entries.

  4. Right-click each and select End Task.

You can restart the Scheduler later from within the Webgility Desktop application.

This ensures your automation runs only when needed and is safely paused during configuration or updates.
