How to Restore Webgility Desktop After Replacing System Drive Without Backup

This guide helps Webgility Desktop users restore their Webgility Desktop after replacing the system drive (C:) without a prior backup. It provides step-by-step instructions for reinstalling SQL Server 2022, the Webgility Desktop application, and reconnecting sales channels and QuickBooks Desktop.

Prerequisites

  • Administrator access to the system where installation is required.

  • Credentials for:

    • Sales channels (e.g., Amazon, eBay, Shopify).

    • QuickBooks Desktop or QuickBooks Online / NetSuite account.


Step 1: Install SQL Server 2022

  1. Download SQL Server 2022 Express from the official Microsoft website:
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/sql-server/sql-server-downloads

  2. Launch the installer and choose:
    New SQL Server stand-alone installation.

  3. During setup, configure the Authentication Mode:

    • Select Mixed Mode (recommended for Webgility).

    • Set the credentials:

      • Username: sa

      • Password: Webgility2011

  4. Complete the installation and restart the system if prompted.


Step 2: Install Webgility Application

  1. Download the latest Webgility installer from the Webgility portal:
    https://portal.webgility.com

  2. Right-click the installer and choose Run as administrator.

  3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

    • When prompted, enter your SQL Server instance name and SA credentials:

      • Username: sa

      • Password: Webgility2011

  4. Complete the installation and launch Webgility as administrator.


Step 3: Reconnect Sales Channels

  1. In Webgility, navigate to:
    Connections > Sales Channels > Add Sales Channel

  2. Follow the prompts to sign in and reauthorize your platforms (e.g., Amazon, Shopify, etc.).


Step 4: Reconnect QuickBooks / NetSuite

  1. Go to:
    Connections > Accounting > Add or Reconnect QuickBooks

  2. Choose your accounting platform (QuickBooks Desktop, Online, or NetSuite).

  3. Complete the reauthorization and mapping process.

  • This guide is applicable only if no previous backup of your Webgility data was available.
