How to Restore Connection Between Webgility Desktop and QuickBooks Desktop

This article helps Webgility Desktop users step-by-step instructions to resolve connection issues between Webgility Desktop and QuickBooks Desktop.

Resolution Steps

1. Run Applications as Administrator

Make sure both Webgility and QuickBooks are:

  • Open

  • Running as Administrator

Right-click each app icon and choose Run as administrator.

2. Locate the QuickBooks Company File

  • In QuickBooks Desktop, press Ctrl + 1 to open the Product Information window.

  • Note the path of the Company File listed.

  • Copy the Company File Location.

  • Close the information window.


3. Configure Webgility Connection to QuickBooks

  • Open Webgility.

  • Go to Connections > Accounting POS/ERP > Edit Connection.

  • Choose the correct QuickBooks version.

  • Paste the Company File location copied earlier.

  • Select the QuickBooks connection type (e.g., Local File, Unknown).

  • Choose the appropriate QuickBooks File Mode.

  • Click Test QuickBooks Connection.


4. Verify Connection

  • A success message should appear confirming that Webgility is now connected to QuickBooks.
