How to Identify and Resolve Shopify Payout Failures in Webgility Desktop

This article guides Webgility Desktop users through resolving Shopify payout issues, including failed payouts. It provides clear, step-by-step instructions to identify the root cause and apply the appropriate fix.

Troubleshooting Steps:

1. Check the Payout Status in Webgility Desktop

  • In Webgility navigate to Orders go to Shopify and click on Payouts.

  • In the Pending Tab, check the status of the Payout, if there's an error click on the Error sign and Webgility will display the error on one of the Payout Posting Steps, click on it.
  • It will display an Error Message which will include the affected orders in Shopify Payout.

2. Investigate Failed the Order# in the Error Prompt

  • Copy the order numbers from the Error Message, these orders are usually in the Posted Or Archive Tab.
  • If the orders are already synced with QuickBooks, unsync them by selecting the orders, right-click on an order and select undo sync.
  • Once the orders are unsynced, they will be moved to the New Orders Tab, navigate to Orders go to Shopify and click on Payout Reports.
  • Re-try posting the same payout report.
