How to Handle Shopify PO Numbers in QuickBooks
This article explains Webgility Desktop users about the current capabilities and limitations of handling Shopify Purchase Order (PO) Numbers posting to QuickBooks Desktop using Webgility Desktop. At present, Webgility Desktop supports posting the Shopify PO number into QuickBooks Desktop typically into a custom field but does not support the reverse: sending PO data from QuickBooks Desktop back to Shopify or mapping it to user-defined fields.
Overview
A feature to map the Shopify Purchase Order (PO) Number directly into a custom field in QuickBooks Desktop from Webgility Desktop. Currently, the Webgility Desktop only supports posting the Shopify PO number into QuickBooks (from Shopify to QuickBooks), but not in the reverse direction (QuickBooks to Shopify or user-specified fields).
Current Feature Functionality
- Supported: Shopify PO number is automatically posted into a dedicated field in QuickBooks during posting.
- Not Supported: Custom mapping of the QuickBooks custom PO field to Shopify purchase orders.
Temporary Workarounds
- Manual Copy: Advise customers to manually copy PO numbers from Shopify into their desired custom field in QuickBooks after sync, if business process requires it.
