How to Fix Webgility Desktop Database and QuickBooks Connection Issues on Add-On PCs
This article helps Webgility Desktop users troubleshoot database connection errors encountered when using Webgility Desktop with QuickBooks Desktop on an add-on computer. These errors often occur due to insufficient Windows account permissions, as both QuickBooks Desktop and Webgility Desktop require administrative access to connect properly and manage files.
Step 1: Check Your Windows Account Permissions

On the add-on computer, open the Control Panel.

Go to User Accounts > Change Account Type

Make sure your account shows as Administrator.

If it doesn’t, either switch to an admin account or update your permissions.
🧾 Step 2: Run QuickBooks as Administrator

Close QuickBooks if it’s open.

Right-click the QuickBooks Desktop shortcut.

Click Run as administrator.

Open your company file as usual.
