How to Fix the “Redownload the Order and Try Again” Error During Shopify Payout Posting in Webgility Desktop

This article helps Webgility Desktop users resolve the “redownload the order and try again” error encountered during Shopify payout posting. It explains that this issue commonly arises from sync failures or mismatches between the Shopify and Webgility Desktop payout data, and provides steps to fix the problem.

Overview

This article outlines the steps to resolve the "redownload the order and try again" error encountered during payout posting. This error is generally caused by a synchronization issue between the order management system and the payout processing module.

Root Cause

The error typically occurs when an order is only partially synced or the sync process fails, resulting in incomplete or outdated data. This disrupts the payout posting workflow, prompting the system to request a fresh download of the order.

Resolution Steps

1. Undo the Sync for the Affected Order

  • Open the Order Management section in Webgility.

  • Search for the order using its Order ID.

  • Use the Undo Sync option (may appear as Undo Sync, Revert Sync, or a similar label).

  • Confirm the undo action to clear the existing sync data.

2. Redownload the Order

  • Once the sync is undone, locate the Redownload option for the same order.

  • Click Redownload to retrieve the most up-to-date version of the order.

  • Wait for confirmation that the download was completed successfully.

3. Retry Payout Posting

  • Go to the Payout Posting section.

  • Select the order and proceed with posting the payout.

  • Confirm that the payout posts successfully without any further errors.
