How to Fix the “Decimal Quantity Not Supported” Error in Webgility Desktop

This article helps Webgility Desktop users in addressing the “Decimal quantity is not supported in your Sales channel” error encountered during inventory sync from QuickBooks Desktop to Sales Channel through Webgility Desktop. The issue typically stems from one or more of the following: decimal quantity handling not enabled in settings, pending orders not yet posted to QuickBooks Desktop, or incorrect product mapping between Webgility Desktop and the sales channel. The guide provides step-by-step instructions to identify and fix the root cause.

You may encounter the error “Decimal quantity is not supported in your Sales channel” while syncing inventory in Webgility Desktop. This issue typically arises due to: Decimal quantity handling not being enabled in settings, Pending orders not yet posted to QuickBooks, Incorrect product mapping between Webgility and your sales channel.  This guide walks through how to resolve the issue step by step.

How to Fix the Error

Step 1: Enable "Round Off Quantity" in Settings

  1. Go to the Products tab in Webgility Desktop

  2. Click on Settings > Sync Settings

  3. Enable the checkbox for:
Round Off Quantity values in QuickBooks

  4. Save your changes

This ensures that decimal quantities are rounded appropriately before syncing to QuickBooks.

Step 2: Adjust Order Status Handling

  1. While still in Products > Settings > Sync Settings, locate the setting:
🔄 Assume the product is not "In Order" when the order status is:

  2. Select all available order statuses (e.g., Pending, Processing, On Hold)

  3. Save your changes

This prevents the system from treating products with fractional quantities as still “in order,” which can trigger errors during sync.

Step 3: Review Product Mapping

If the above steps don't resolve the issue, the error may be caused by incorrect product mapping between Webgility and your sales channel.

  • Visit your Product Mapping section in Webgility

  • Unmap and remap affected products if necessary

  • Make sure all mappings align with how the products are configured in both systems (QuickBooks and your sales channel)
