How to Fix Shipping Label and Packing Slip Printing Issues in Webgility Desktop

This article helps Webgility Desktop users resolve issues with printing shipping labels or packing slips in Webgility Desktop by addressing common causes such as incorrect automation settings, misconfigured printer options, or restricted server access, and provides steps to fix these problems.

Overview

If your shipping labels or packing slips are not printing correctly—such as printing blank, misaligned, or missing information—the issue is usually related to printer configuration. This can be due to mismatched settings between Webgility Desktop and your operating system (e.g., incorrect paper size, margins, or default printer settings).

This article walks you through verifying and adjusting the correct settings to ensure smooth printing.

Steps to Fix Printing Issues

1. Review Printer Settings for Packing Slips

  1. Open Webgility Desktop.

  2. From the top menu, go to:
    Shipping > Packing Slip

  3. The Packing Slip Settings window will appear.

    • Navigate to the Printer Settings tab.

  4. In this tab, verify and adjust the following:

    • Correct printer is selected.

    • Paper size, layout, and other preferences match your physical setup.

    • Optional elements like headers, footers, and order details are configured as needed.

  5. Once all settings are confirmed, click Save and Close.

  6. Perform a test print to ensure the packing slip outputs correctly.

2. Review Printer Settings for Shipping Labels

  1. In Webgility Desktop, go to:
Connections > Shipping > Shipping Settings

  2. The Shipping Settings window will open.

  3. Under the appropriate shipping carrier (e.g., UPS, FedEx, USPS), review the printer configurations:

    • Ensure the correct printer is selected for label output.

    • Check the layout, paper size, and any custom preferences or margins.

  4. Once reviewed, click Save to apply changes.

  5. Test print a label to confirm alignment and print quality.

Additional Tips

  • Make sure your printer’s driver is up to date.

  • Match the label dimensions used in Webgility Desktop to your physical label stock (e.g., 4" x 6").

  • Restart both Webgility Desktop and your printer after changes, if issues persist.
