How to Fix Missing Sales Receipt Numbers in QuickBooks Online from Webgility Online
This article helps Webgility Online users in addressing issue where sales receipts generated in Quickbooks Online transactions through Webgility Online for Shopify orders show blank or receipt numbers missing in QuickBooks Online. This typically occurs due to misconfigured sales receipt numbering settings or sync errors during order posting in Webgility Online.
WO-PRO Online relies on Shopify's integration settings. If Custom Transaction Numbers is not enabled in the account settings, external sales (Shopify) may not populate the Sales Receipt Number field.
Steps to complete troubleshooting:
1. Login to QuickBooks Online and look for the gear icon in the top right corner.
2. You will then need to click on Account and Settings.
3. In the window that opens, click on Sales. Then click on the pencil icon in the right corner of the sales form content section.
4. Enabling sales transaction data points will help you to configure how Webgility will create transactions, inventory, discount items, and shipping charges from orders:
Custom Transaction Numbers: enable this if you would like your QuickBooks Online transaction numbers to match your online order numbers.
5. Once the settings have been enabled, unsync and redownload the orders before posting them again to QuickBooks. Please check if the custom transaction numbers appear now.
