How to Fix Missing COGS Values for Amazon FBA Orders in QuickBooks Desktop via Webgility Desktop

This article helps Webgility Desktop users in resolving missing COGS (Cost of Goods Sold) values in QuickBooks Desktop reports for Amazon FBA orders. These issues are typically caused by discrepancies in product configuration between Amazon and the QuickBooks Desktop integration. The article outlines steps to identify and correct mapping or setup issues to ensure accurate COGS reporting.

Step-by-Step Resolution

1. Verify Item COGS Configuration on Amazon

  • Log in to your Amazon Seller Central account.
  • On the left hand-side panel click on the three lines then Go to Inventory and locate an FBA item which is missing COGS value in QuickBooks.
  • verify that each item has a purchase cost or COGS value specified.
  • If missing or incorrect, update to the correct value.

2. Repost the Transactions:

    • In Webgility Desktop navigate to Connections go to Get Latest Data & Settings and Download the QuickBooks data.
    • Create a couple of test orders on Amazon, in Webgility Desktop click on Get New Orders to download and sync them over to QuickBooks.
    • Only new transactions will reflect correct COGS value in QuickBooks quick reporting.

3. Address Previously Imported Transactions

  • Note that COGS adjustments may not affect already posted FBA orders.
  • For previously missing COGS data, consider manual adjustments within QuickBooks, if needed for accurate reporting.
