How to Add Multiple Shipping Addresses and Set a Default in Webgility Desktop
This article guides Webgility Desktop users on how to add multiple shipping addresses and set a default shipping address for their integrated shipping providers. This functionality is especially useful for users processing shipments, helping to streamline and manage shipping workflows effectively.
Overview
Whether you ship from various locations, or simply want the flexibility to choose a different origin address for your packages, Webgility Desktop allows you to manage multiple shipper addresses. You can add all your frequently used addresses to a library and even set a default address for each of your shipping providers.
Adding Multiple Shipping Addresses to Your Shipper Address Library
To add all your different shipping origin addresses into Webgility Desktop:
-
Please go to Shipping > Library > Shipper Address.
-
This will open a new window titled Shipper Address List.
-
Here, click on the Add button.
-
Enter the complete details of the address you want to add (e.g., Company Name, Contact Name, Street Address, City, State, Zip Code, Phone Number).
-
Once done, click Save.
-
The newly added address will now appear in the lower section of this window.
-
You can repeat this same process to add multiple different shipping addresses as needed.
Setting a Default Shipper Address for Each Shipping Provider
After adding your addresses to the Shipper Address Library, you can set a default shipping address for each shipping provider (like UPS, FedEx, USPS, etc.) that you have integrated with Webgility Desktop.
-
For this, go to Shipping > Automation Rules.
-
This will open the Shipping Settings window.
-
Navigate to the Shipping rules tab, then find the section titled Default settings for each processor.
-
Click Configure next to the shipping provider for which you want to set a default address.
-
This will take you to the Configure Default Settings page for that specific shipping provider.
-
Here, check the box for Add. List: (or similar label).
-
The drop-down menu next to it will display all the shipper addresses you have added in the Webgility Shipper Library (from the previous section).
-
Select your preferred default shipper address from this list.
-
Click Save (or OK) to save the setting.
This default address will automatically be selected while processing shipping using Webgility Desktop for that specific shipping provider.
- Flexibility: Even with a default address set, you still have the flexibility to change the shipper address manually while processing individual shipments through Webgility Desktop if you need to ship from a different location for a particular order.
