Correcting Product Mismatches by Unmapping Items in Webgility Desktop

This article guides Webgility Desktop users on how to unmap products to correct incorrect associations between sales channels and QuickBooks Desktop Products. It covers both bulk and individual unmapping methods, helping ensure product data is accurately linked.

Overview

The term "Unmap product" refers to a feature in the Webgility Desktop app that lets you remove or disassociate specific product mappings. This is particularly useful in situations where:

  • Online items were mapped to different QuickBooks items incorrectly: You might have accidentally linked an online product to the wrong item in QuickBooks.
  • Product matching criteria have been modified: The identifying details (like the SKU number of the online item or the QuickBooks item name) may have changed, making the existing mapping inaccurate.

You can unmap products either in bulk or individually. Please refer to the methods below.

Bulk Unmapping Method

This method is ideal when you need to unmap multiple products at once.

  1. Navigate to the Products tab on Webgility Desktop.
  2. On the left navigation panel, click on All Products (under your sales channel header, e.g., "Shopify" or "Walmart").
  3. Under the All Products section, click on the View dropdown menu.
  4. Filter the list by selecting Mapped Products. (Note: You can also use the search bar to find incorrectly mapped products by searching with the Product name or SKU).
  5. Select all the products that you want to un-map by checking the box next to each product.
  6. Once your selections are made, click on the Remove Mappings button.

Individual Unmapping Method

This method is best used when you only need to unmap one or a few specific products.

  1. Navigate to the Products tab on Webgility Desktop.
  2. On the left navigation panel, click on All Products.
  3. Locate the specific product you'd like to un-map in the product list.
  4. Find the Chain link icon (this represents the mapping status) in the item's row (often found in the "Status" or "Mapping" column).
  5. Click on the Chain link icon to Un-Map the product.
    • (Note: The unmap option is available by clicking this icon or sometimes by right-clicking the product row and selecting "Unmap").
