How To Ignore Shopify Orders From Various POS Locations

This article helps Webgility Desktop users exclude orders from specific Shopify POS locations in Webgility Desktop. By default, Webgility Desktop downloads orders from all configured POS locations for Shopify channel. The article provides step-by-step instructions to configure settings so that orders from selected POS locations are not pulled into Webgility during the order download process.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Sync Latest Data from Shopify

  • Launch Webgility Desktop.

  • Navigate to: Connections → Get Latest Data & Settings.

  • In the window that appears, under the “Download Online Settings” section, ensure that “Locations” are downloaded from your Shopify admin.

This sync retrieves the most up-to-date list of all Shopify POS locations connected to your store.


2. Open Advanced Store Settings

  • Go to: Connections → Sales Channel → Advanced Settings.

  • In the Advanced Settings dialog box, switch to the Additional Settings tab.


3. Exclude POS Locations

  • Scroll to the section labeled: Ignore Orders from These Locations.

  • From the dropdown list, select the Shopify POS locations you want Webgility Deskop to ignore during order downloads.

  • Click Save to apply your changes.

This prevents orders from the selected locations from being downloaded into Webgility Deskop.

Notes & Additional Settings

  • Shopify POS orders include location metadata. Webgility Deskop uses this to identify the source location of the order.

  • To manage download behavior, always use the “Ignore Orders from These Locations” setting to filter POS orders accordingly.

  • For Shopify web orders that appear with a Null location in Webgility Deskop, use the “Ignore Orders from These Sources” setting instead. This allows for filtering based on non-POS sources.
